Julie welcomes children and young people from different EU countries to the European Parliament

eurochild.jpgNext Sunday we will celebrate the Children’s Rights Day. In the context, Julie welcomed a group of young people and children from different EU countries to the Parliament, for a workshop on children’s participation in decision making, entitled WITH Children – FOR Children: From ideas to action!

The Children’s Press Centre based in the Netherlands interviewed Julie about her work on children’s rights and discussed how children and young people can get more involved in decision making that affects them at all levels.

Julie also hosted a workshop where children explored with several MEPs how to bring Julie’s report on ‘the role of education, cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue in promoting EU fundamental values’ to life with concrete measures, and how to make sure children’s voice are heard by decision makers at level, including in the European Parliament.
