Appreciating the Arts in Slovenia

Last year, before becoming a MEP, I visited Slovenia and was extremely impressed with their arts movements and overjoyed with the kind reception they gave me.

Whilst there I visited the Ana Monro Theatre in the capital, Ljubljana. It is a small but expressive and powerful artistic theatre group that has developed into an important production house, which covers the entire production program in the field of street theatre - from education, organisation of festivals and productions of shows and concerts across Slovenia and the wider world, and involvement in international cooperation. More details can be found here.

I also had the pleasure of experiencing Desetnica Ana, the largest international festival of street theatre in the country, which reflects the traditions of the towns that take part. Further details can be found here
